1: Persian Fetta 300g
This goat feta is slowly set to enable the full flavour of the milk to come through without being overly 'gamey'. Marinated in local pure olive oil.
2: Goat Curd 300g
Fresh and light with citrus notes. This soft spreadable goats cheese has a whipped texture that's perfect for use on roasted veg or on sourdough toast with poached eggs. Hand made on the Mornington Peninsula. Best to use within 3 weeks of opening.
3: Beach box 180g
A wonderfully rich and creamy jersey cow milk brie. This cheese has a light bloomy rind and rich golden centre.
4: Black Pearl 150g
A hand-shaped, ashed, wrinkly rinded soft goats cheese. This cheese is fresh and light when young, becoming soft, oozy and robus as it ages.
5: Red Dawn Pinot Noir
A semi hard goats milk cheese brined in pinot noir before being aged. The beautiful burgundy rind contributes a subtle wine flavour and is best enjoyed with your favourite Red.
6: Barnacle Billie Chillie
A slightly sweet, nutty and supple goats milk cheese.
Smooth and creamy on the palate, this cheese melts well and can be paired with almost anything. Studded with chilli.
7: The Compass 180g
Beach Box washed with Two Bays IPA Beer produced here in The Habitat on the Mornington Peninsula.
BoatShed Cheese was created by Tamara, of Tamara's Kitchen. Boatshed Cheese in Dromana are all about handmade French style soft goat, cow and buffalo cheeses.
Dairy farmers, Sarah and John Archard bought BoatShed from Tamara in 2020 after being unable to open own a cheesery on their Northern Victorian property because of local health regs.
Sarah says the Boatshed has given them the opportunity to make and sell their own cheeses and also teach their customers about cheese production hands-on.
Original cheesemaker Shaun Landman shares cheese-making duties with Becky Archard, Sarah and John’s daughter.
Becky discovered a passion for cheese-making while lending Shaun a hand during a uni break.
Completely hooked Becky left-school and now takes care of cheese-production while Shaun looks after cheese-aging.
The delicious sum of their combined efforts finds its way into the Boatshed’s tasting room and the mouths of hungry locals and curious weekenders.
